A Road-Like Reflection of the Moon in the Water- Mångata

Dermond Peterson Mangata

Mångata, pronounced Moo-EN-gata, is a Swedish word that has no simple translation into English. The best result is a "road like reflection of the moon in the water" which is much more complex than the simple, eloquent, Mångata.

This moon-like circle is created from the remaining bits cut from the first blocks that built our Skandia collection- Skoldpadda, Fisk, Randig, and Cirkel.

We found other untranslatable words in The Guardian's review   of Ellen Frances Sanders' illustrated book Lost in Translation: An Illustrated Compendium of Untranslatable Words which features beautiful drawings depicting the words that are beyond words.
